USA: A primer on mental healthcare supply and demand
Most of us have been part of at least one ‘we have a serious mental healthcare issue in America’ conversation within the past several years. There are assuredly many aspects of this issue in our country. One aspect, and the focus of this paper, is an apparent mental health provider shortage (also referred to as behavioral health providers or psychotherapists1 ). Additionally, this paper will explore some potential steps forward in addressing this concern.
